BACTERIOPHAGE COCKTAILS
Bacteriophage therapy is generally created as a cocktail with multiple individual phage added to a solution. They are applied topically (on the skin or mucous membranes), rectally, injected with a needle, or taken orally.
In the body, bacteriophages concentrate in the areas of greatest damage and multiply once their target bacteria are found. After the target bacteria have been killed or lysed, the phage expire are excreted from the body.
The main goal of phage therapy is to stop and reverse the infectious process in order to enable the body’s immune system to cope with the infection.
